Verlencia and Jeff Engagement Session

Verlencia and Jeff reached out wanting to capture their engagement, and let me tell you—I had the absolute best time celebrating with them. From the moment we met, their energy was contagious. These two are the perfect blend of city and country, a modern-day Romeo and Juliet (minus the tragic ending, of course). Verlencia grew up in the heart of Chicago, surrounded by skyscrapers and city lights, while Jeff was raised in the country, where wide-open fields and starry skies are just a part of everyday life. Together, they’ve created this beautifully blended relationship that feels like the best of both worlds.

Something they made clear - their love of driving out to the country at night just to look at the stars. Verlencia shared how, growing up in Chicago, she rarely got to see the night sky clearly. Now, those late-night drives under a blanket of stars have become one of their favorite traditions—a quiet escape from the noise of everyday life and a reminder of how magical the simple things can be.

It was clear from the start that we needed a location that reflected their love of the outdoors and the serenity they find in nature. We decided on two beautiful local parks that gave us the perfect mix of lush greenery and wide-open skies. The scenery was stunning, but what really made the session unforgettable was the two of them! Oh, and did I mention their adorable little pup, Meatball? Of course, we couldn’t leave him out of the fun! He trotted along happily, stealing the spotlight more than once with his puppy-dog eyes. 

From laughing under the trees to quiet, intimate moments by the woods, every part of this session was a celebration of who they are—individually and together. It was about capturing the little things that make their love unique. Congrats to Verlencia and Jeff! Cheers to starry nights, endless adventures, and a all of that with a meatball on top!
