Mommy & Me: Natalie and Stella

Natalie is not only a client but also an incredibly talented photographer herself, which makes it all the more flattering every time she asks me to capture her family. There’s something truly special about photographing someone who understands the art of photos and trusts you to tell their story. This session was part of my annual fall mini sessions, and it couldn’t have been more perfect.

For the setup, I wanted to keep things simple and timeless, so I opted for a neutral background—a white sheet hanging from the trees, letting the shadows of leaves dance delicately through the silhouette. It was minimalistic yet elegant, adding a touch of whimsy and creating a beautifully ethereal canvas for the session. I love how the natural light played through the leaves, giving the images a soft, dreamy quality.

But what really made this session pop were Natalie and Stella’s choices. They showed up in the most stunning, vivid shades of terracotta and pink, creating a vibrant contrast against the simplicity of the backdrop. The colors were warm, bold, and absolutely perfect for fall. It was such a fun choice, highlighting their playful, loving connection while adding a beautiful richness to the photos.

And then there was Stella—full of life, energy, and a playful little bug that was downright contagious. She laughed, she twirled, she wrapped her little arms around her mama, and every single moment was pure magic. You could feel the bond between them radiating in every shot, the kind of love that’s warm and genuine and oh-so-sweet. I love capturing these little in-between moments—the tickles, the giggles, the tender hugs—because they’re the memories that truly last a lifetime.

Natalie’s calm, loving presence balanced Stella’s playful energy perfectly, creating a session that was both joyful and heartfelt. It was beautiful to see how naturally they connected in front of the camera, no posing needed. Just two people who clearly adore each other, sharing sweet moments that I was lucky enough to capture.
