Maker Session: Lindsey the Ladysmith

Working with Lindsey is ALWAYS a dream. She is such a kind, down-to-earth, creative human being, and getting to step into her world for a little while was nothing short of magical. Her presence has this calm, grounded energy — the kind that makes you want to sit down, breathe a little deeper, and just be.

Growing up, my papa had a rock shop where he made jewelry and sold rare stones and gems he’d collected over the years. I remember the distinct, earthy smell of that space — a mix of metal, dust, and stories waiting to be told. It was a place that felt sacred. Walking into Lindsey’s creative studio brought all of that flooding back. The light filtering in just right, the quiet hum of focused energy, and the evidence of hours spent making art with love — it instantly reminded me of him.

Lindsey shared with me that only two other people had ever been in this space before. Two. That’s how sacred this place is to her. So to be invited in, to witness her process and be trusted to document even a sliver of it — it was such an honor, and one I didn’t take lightly.

There’s something deeply powerful about watching women work and create — seeing their hands move with intention, their faces soften in focus, their spirits come alive through whatever medium they’re touching. It lights something up in me every time. Sharing this particular experience with Lindsey made it even more special. I already can't wait for the next one.
